Belgian Tripel, Belgian Golden Strong, Saison
Chimay Cinq Cents (Tripel), Alagash Tripel, Westmalle Tripel, Duvel (Golden Strong), Delirium Tremens (Golden Strong), Tank 7 (Saison)
Discovered some big surprises regarding bitterness that I never noticed before:
Tripel: residual sweetness after swallowing, much more bitter than I expected compared to the Golden Strongs, Alagash Tripel tastes like a bigger Alagash White (Witbier), Chimay had a familiar yeast flavor found in their other beers (jasmin/cinnamon/honey blossoms)
Belgian Golden Strong: Duvel is dry as a bone with very little residual sweetness and less bitter than the Tripels, I detected corn on the nose which sometimes happens to me when I try Duvel against other beers (not sure why this happens), Delirium has distinct camomile/Earl Grey/bergamot/orange/yogurt notes and is less bitter than the Tripels
Saison: Tank 7 is an American take on Saison, and on the nose there is a ton of American hop character, less bitter than the Tripels
